I gave up on it over a year ago. The best alternative I found (I very much regret to say) was to run MS Money in Virtual PC. It was perfectly useable, and even synched nicely with ultrasoft money on my palm - all under VPC. It certainly had all the right features and was very easy to use. OTOH I'm not the best person to give an opinion, since I've now decided the whole thing was pretty much a waste of time for me. Having religiously recorded transactions on my PDA for about 10 years and then synched them to my PC (and later Mac as above), I now just rely on First Direct to get it right (which they always do) and just check balances via SMS, internet or phone.
